Documentation

When you purchase a Themedost theme, the download pack you receive includes all the osTicket files plus the customized files for the client-side design. The installation process is very similar to setting up osTicket itself — with just a few additional steps for applying the theme.

There are two options depending on whether you are doing a fresh install of osTicket or applying the theme to an existing installation.

1. Fresh Installation (New osTicket Site)

If you are installing osTicket for the first time with a Themedost theme:

  1. Unpack the files
Unzip the download package. Inside, you’ll find an upload folder containing all the necessary osTicket + theme files.
  2. Upload to your server
Copy the contents of the upload folder into a directory on your server. You can name the directory based on your preference (e.g. /osticket/, /helpdesk/, /support/).
  3. Set file permissions
The osTicket installer needs permission to write and modify theost-config.php file located in the /include/ directory. Make sure proper file permissions are enabled before continuing.
  4. Run the installer
Open your new osTicket site in a browser (e.g. yourdomain.com/support/). The installer will launch automatically. Follow the on-screen steps to complete the installation just as you would with a normal osTicket setup.

2. Applying Theme to an Existing osTicket Installation

If you already have osTicket running and want to apply the Themedost theme:

  1. Back up your site
Make a full backup of your existing osTicket directory (e.g. /support/). This ensures you can restore the site if needed.
  2. Save the configuration file
Inside your current installation, go to /include/ and copy theost-config.php file. This file contains your database connection and setup details. Keep it safe on your computer.
  3. Replace the osTicket directory
On your server, remove or rename the existing /support/ directory. Upload the new Themedost theme package in its place, and rename it to /support/(so the URL remains unchanged).
  4. Restore your configuration
In the new /include/ directory, replace the packagedost-config.php file with your original backup. This reconnects your themed installation to your existing database and settings.
  5. Verify the installation
Open your support portal in a browser. You should now see your osTicket site running with the new Themedost theme applied.

Always back up both your files and database before making changes. If you had additional plugins or language packs in your old installation, reapply them after installing the theme.
